Any solutions out there? Why the ranting if you both knew what i was asking. Jeezzzzzz

What happened to the money in the Madoff scandal? Okay, so this guy takes 50 BILLION dollars from investors. Where did the money go? He couldn't have spent all of it, could he? The money must actually BE somewhere. Does anyone understand what a "Ponzi" scam is? This story is confusing to me. Why can't he give back the money?
If Bernard L. Madoff could pull off a 80 billion dollar scam, what makes you think Obama can pull of his scam? Bernard L. Madoff ripped millions of people off with his Ponzi scheme, what makes you think that Obama can't pull of his scam, he has no experience, no legitimate birth certificate, claims to not be associated with anyone in Chicago, yet lived there and was brought up in the corrupt Democrat family in Chicago, what makes you think he isn't pulling a Ponzi on those who voted for him?
What are the names of the major Pyramid and Ponzi businesses out there? I had someone from "I-Commerce" invite me to meet with him for an interview at 8:30pm on a Friday night. Given the time and day for the meeting time I pretty much guessed that it was a sort of scam, but I met with him because I didn't want to be rude. Within two minutes of having met with him, he got out a phamplet and started explaining how I could make $200,000 in two years. At that point I started wondering why I had agreed to meet with him in the first place. Complete waste of time. What are the names of these types of companies that you have interacted with?
Question for all you stock investors out there? Does anybody actually believe that there is not a very large amount of very exclusive insider trading going on in the stock market? Essentially making the whole thing kind of a Ponzi scam? Buying after people all sell and then dump it again when it has as many " suckers" as possible and then buy it back again. All you have to do is have some rich insider friends to manipulate the media and time everything together. Just wanted to take opinion polls on this and see what your reason for wanting to still trade there? Is it just addictive , like the casinos in Vegas? You still want to think that you will be with the lucky ones and the "losers" will be the misinformed others?
What type of legal action can I take against a Canadian man running a scam? Several people in the U.S. became victims of of a man running a ponzi type scheme. This man and his business are located in Canada. We have documents and articles pertaining to this alleged scheme. He defrauded millions of dollars from people in the U.S and Canada as well. The Canadian Government are dragging their feet. Is there any legal action we can take in the U.S. or pursue criminal charges against this man.
Are ALL Pay It Forward Cash Gifting Programs The Same as Described on Ponzi-Pyramid-Scams.com ? I know gifting is legal, and I know pyramids are not, so why are so many promoting this as ethical and legal while others seem to say it is not? As long as a person is fully informed no cash gifts are guaranteed in return, and you gift someone accordingly, and you sign documents with this understanding, so why would it be illegal? Seems to be a gray area from what I have researched. Of course, all gifts have to be reported on your 1040 tax returns, as we all know avoiding taxes is illegal. I read legal description of Ponzi pyramid scams by MLM lawyer on Ponzi-Pyramid-Scams.com and am looking for answers as gifting does not seem to fit the typical description.
Can anyone tell me how you stash, launder or spend $50 billion? Even drug lords, gun runners and the big three auto makers would like to know! I am speechless but this is a serious question considering the amount lost in this latest Ponzi scam. Do you think the economic unwinding the world is facing is going to produce more dark corners?
if ponzi is illegal under the US jurisdiction, how come there the MLMs and Pyramid? If ponzi is what being claimed as illegal under the US jurisdiction, so how about MLMs and pyramid schemes. Cos i dun hav a very clear idea of how the SEC does their work as i was being scammed by one of the autosurf that claimed the SEC confisticated all their assets. As very much to our every day life are being influenced directly or indirectly by ponzi, from the banking industry to the social security.
are scientologists more susceptible to ponzi schemes and internet scams than everyone else? Shouldn't we send the list of scientologists to nigeria so they can at least target insignificant unimportant creatures rather than us humans? 1- Freeman, you seem to be the only person in this thread that didn't understand the question. the "they" refers to nigerians, the "animals" referrs to scientologists. 2- I strongly suggest you READ the question AND comments before flying off the handle. 3- if the question is about scientologists it makes NO SENSE to insult nigerians who unlike scientologists ARE HUMAN. 4- tom cruise is scum, there are no reedeming qualities about him and he should be publicly executed by having him covered with enraged fire ants on national television. Him and travolta. 5- Freeman I'm expecting you to edit your post to reflect reality, not your erroneous reading of the question.
Has Wall St become one big scam after another? It was on Yahoo news since disappeared but will be on the evening news, that yet another Wall St brokerage firm, this one specializing in hedge funds has been one giant ponzi scheme and is now going broke. Of course, the guy was not arrested or his business shut down because you can do these things it appears on Wall st and it's OK. Buyer beware etc. Add this to the multitude of schemes that precipitated the mess we're in economically with the investment houses bundling debt into financial products they unloaded around the world and it appears that there are one set of rules for you and me and another for Washington D.C. and yet another for Wall St. On top of this the Wall St banks have received the lion's share of the bailout money (Berneke is an ex-Wall Streeter) with no strings atattachedhile our auto makers have had to jump through hoops and beg. Latest reports indicate that the Wall st bankers have given etthemselvesuge bonuses with this bailout money. Has this allowance of creating their own rules and making Wall St "untouchable" been the reason that the greedy went wild, ovoversoldlenty of nothing and sent thousands into financial dedevastation (P.S. Yahoo deleted my last qquestionlike this. Apparently questioning Wall St is a censorable topic.)
Is it natural if an exponential trend line of a profit chart becomes exactly straight? It concerns weekly profits of some sort of managed forex account (what they say it is). In Excel I made a chart of their weekly yield (compounded weekly) over 26 weeks and added a (default) exponential trendline to it. This line becomes an excact straight line, (luckily slightly upwards). I have no excact knowlage of this, but is it a "natural" situation for an exponential trend to develop like this or should it be more curved? I'm realy interested to know, because they could be a ponzi/pyramid scam with a sophisticated pre-setup profit system. What is the punishment for ... + legal questions? Scamming people out of millions of dollars and not responding to subpeonas? The FBI just caught Lou Pearlman. He's the guy behind the 90s boy bands. Over the last few years he's been scammed over 1000 investors using the Ponzi scheme. to the tune of $315 million. He's been on the run for the last few months and has ignored numerous subpeonas. My friends and I were just curious. About how mnay years in jail and how large of a fine, asdie from the $315 million is he looking at? Also the report said that he was charge with 1 count of bank fraud. But he scammed over 1000 people and several banks. Why only 1 charge? My friends and I are more curious about how much jail time he's expected to face and how much in fines he'll be asked to pay.
TV ad investment scam? I'm trying to find a Wall Street Journal jailhouse interview with a convicted tv investment ad scammer. This was an elaborate ponzi scheme in which investors were promised big returns for investing in tv advertising. I recall this was quite a big scam; many of the investors were dentists. The article appeared within one or two years ago.
How did Bernard Madoff get 50bil for a Ponzi scheme? I understand the basic idea of barely regulated Hedge Fund investing. I know how a Ponzi scheme or pyramid works. How can people be so careless with millions adding billions? I though big investors studied the market and carefully choose funds and stocks. And I though this type of investor "Hedged" his money by making many smaller risky investment - not putting big chunks in one fund. I have small change compared to the Wall Street guys, but I check into the places I put my money. If these investors are so smart/rich how could they not research this and avoid this scam?
what is a Ponzi scheme? I came across a commercial lender offering 4% loans it sounds way to good to be true, so I think this is a scam

Does _anyone_ see the giant scam being perpetrated on us? By that I mean the 'carbon offset' Ponzi scheme that Al and his buddies have dreamed up. It's a classic pyramid but will have the force of law backed up by the 'scientists' at the socialists international,,,er ah, UN.
Is this a scam? (REAL ESTATE)? Developer is looking for investors to buy lots of land. Developer is wanting to start an IPO and get $$$ to launch it. Investors buy lots and "cash out" $20 K -- then lease the lot back to the developer and in a year's time -- the developer buys back the lot. Can you do this? Or is it a Ponzi Scheme? Developer needs the $$$ from sale of lots to launch the IPO. Developer gives me $$$ to pay the "lease" and property tax on the lots for the year and there is a signed agreement that developer will buy back lots from me. I get 20K on top -- for all of this.
Is LIS Deepasthambham Project the greatest scam ever to hit the Net? 'Double your money in 70 weeks' is the best line I'd ever seen that'd make one drool on the possibilities. If you have not yet received a chain mail asking you to join this Ponzi scheme, expect your friends to persuade you into becoming a member in the scheme. I've seen many chain mails, but this one beats them all. It seems as if there's a war raging out there and the promoters are desperate to get as many nitwits as possible in the chain. What do you think the chances of this scheme surviving are, if one were to believe it had now been running for 32 years? www.lisdsp.org has links leading to the Project's site as well as numerous pages evaluating the pros and cons, well more of cons, and some wry asides. What beats me is the way the Indian Government allows such companies to run an impossible, incredible and impractical scheme. Do you think the scheme works on sound fundamentals?
Is there any way I can get money for little or no work? I'm a poor student...and some cash would be nice. Due to some difficulties with my classes and schedule, I can't get a *real* job and the on-campus jobs available to students are full. Is there some way I can get money from *anywhere* - government, whatever - for little or no work? I'm not a minority, not native american, have no distinctive ethnic background...I'm just poor. I'm not looking for food stamps, I'm looking for cash. Laugh if you want, but is there *any* way that I can make some easy money. And I'd rather you not send links to ponzi scams :-) (am NOT willing to engage in illegal activities, sorry...) And please, no snide 'get-a-job-you-bum' answers.
Based on the biggest financial scam of all times I have devised a new phrasal verb: "To mad off" ? whose definition is: To get mad about investing in hazardous derivatives and hedge funds relying in a very sofisticated Ponzi-like schemmer and, after that, to get mad because of have lost the whole money in the mess. Some examples : I maded off and, since then, I’m starving and living in extreme poverty. His father warned him not to mad off, but he insisted and now he is suffering the aftermath. If you want to be rich quickly and easily, just learn to mad off. In Harvard School of Economics they are teaching now how to mad off the people. What do you think?

"The Greatest Vitamin in the World"... how are the vitamins itself? My friend gave me 6 big ol jar of this stuff.. he used to sell them but he moved away and just left them for me. I did some googling and all I could find was information about it being a scam and I already know about pyramid schemes, ponzi's and the like but I'm wondering about the vitamins itself and if they're any good. Anyone know? Thanks. oh, the vitamins are actually called "The Greatest Vitamin in the world"
$50 Billion wall-street fraud!! How do you feel? Ex-Nasdaq chairman and wall-street broker Bernard L. Madoff has been arrested on $50 Billion fraud charge. This was apparently a ponzi type scheme and could be one of the biggest scams in history. Remind me again why "we the people" are bailing out wall-street!?!?!?Why the hell do we all put up with this?!?!?
When will we end Social inSecurity? Social inSecurity is a ponzi scheme created by FDR as part of his fascist New Deal that prolonged the Great Depression (and was a continuation of Herbert Hoover's bad policies). It is a transfer of wealth from young people just starting out in the work force to old people who are retired and should reasonably be expected to have plenty of money to care for themselves. In recent decades, the birth rate has significantly declined. The cause of this decline is Social inSecurity, which takes away the incentives for people to marry and have children as soon as possible so that those children can provide for them (though they don't provide for their parents until middle age, when they can afford it). The Social inSecurity scam is bankrupt and is going to need to take almost every penny that the young people in this country earn in order to survive. When are we going to end this useless and destructive relic of the New Deal? When are we going to cut off the most sacred welfare program?
If Obama grants $2.4 Billion dollars to Los Angeles, do you think only 4,936 jobs is all that can be created? Looks like only the illegals from Mexico are going to be working according to the planned projects, here, to me. What do you think? If the projects don't include beautifying our schools and giving teachers a raise, etc., and along these lines, then the money will be transported to Mexico and will be lost. What do you think? Los Angeles, Calif. Projects: $2.4 billion Jobs estimate: 4,936 Perhaps hoping to avoid a repeat of the California Water Wars, Los Angeles could swiftly use up $852 million on some 28 different water projects (that have already been funded, so this is a scam). Many of L.A.'s projects have a green tilt, too: $100 million for car pool lane enhancements on I-405 (another scam), $110 million for clean fuel trucks (which buys new trucks for the Mexicans coming to deliver from Mexico, another scam) and $77 million to rehabilitate the ecosystem of Machado Lake (another scam). So, it looks like the mayor of Los Angeles is going to do a 'Ponzi Scheme' here, and Obama needs to scrutinize who he gives our tax dollars too. Are we concerned yet? Send your story to Obama: http://change.gov/page/s/yourstory
